We are currently seeking an active and enthusiastic Receptionist/General Assistant at Fermain Valley Hotel, part of Hand Picked Hotels.

What will the role involve?
As a receptionist/general assistant you will have the opportunity to create unforgettable moments, spark joy, and make every guest feel genuinely cared for from the moment they arrive.
In this role, you’re not just welcoming guests, you are crafting personalised experiences that make them feel at home, relaxed, and truly valued.
You’ll thrive in a dynamic environment where no two days are the same. Working closely with our passionate Front Office team, you will be in the centre of the action being connected, informed, and empowered to deliver a consistent and excelling standout service.
This is a varied role, where you will be welcoming guests into the hotel, assisting them to their room with their luggage, supporting the reception team during peak periods and driving our shuttle bus between our 2 hotels in Guernsey and airport pickups.
This is a full-time role working 5 days out of 7 including weekends on a rota basis, 35 hours per week, which may vary depending on business. This seasonal role runs from the beginning of May to the beginning of October 2026.

- Staff live in accommodation is available for £114 per week, inclusive of all meals & bills.

Are you Hand Picked?
- We are looking for active and enthusiastic candidates that have a willing attitude and a welcoming and friendly nature. We work as a team to ensure our hotel operates smoothly and our guests are receiving a high-quality, personalised, and magical experience that they remember, recommend and return to time and time again.
- You will have previous experience working in Front office in a luxury four or five star hotel.
- You’ll bring strong computer skills, confidently navigating hotel reservation systems and Microsoft Office. Experience with Opera is highly desirable.
- Due to the nature of this role, you will hold a valid driving licence and will need to be over the age of 21 to be covered by the insurance.
