We are currently recruiting for a Senior Sous Chef at St Pierre Park Hotel Spa and Golf Resort, part of Hand Picked Hotels.
 
St Pierre Park Hotel Spa and Golf Resort is a 131 Bedroom, 4 Star luxury hotel located close to St Peters Port on the beautiful island of Guernsey and is renowned for being the largest hotel on the island, and one of the best for a romantic get a way. Dine on the Terrace overlooking the lake, experience a luxurious spa treatment or play one of only three golf courses on the island, this is the perfect base to explore the wonderful island of Guernsey.

About the Role

Are you an experienced Chef looking to progress your Kitchen Management experience?
 
We know the step from being a Sous Chef to Head Chef can be a big one so here at Hand Picked Hotels we aim to equip our Sous Chefs with the skills they need to take that step. reporting into the Executive Chef you will have involvement in office and paperwork responsibilities, people management, as well as day-today running of the kitchen, we will help give you the exposure you need to develop your career as a Chef. And of course alongside all of that you get to do what you do best, create fantastic food and lead the team in our professional kitchens.
 
As an experienced Senior Sous Chef you will be responsible for our contemporary restaurant, lounge and terrace within one of Guernsey’s most Iconic hotels and food offerings. This is an exciting opportunity for someone looking to expand their skill set within an establishment focused on sustainability having worked to a 2 rosette standard using both classical and modern cooking techniques.
 
This is a management position within our kitchens, so you’ll be working along side the Executive Head Chef to lead the team in the production of our food, compiling the daily mise en place, and ensuring that all food is cooked and presented to our exceptional Handpicked standardsYou'll be managing, supporting, and developing our kitchen teams whilst creating a great place to work.  A mainstay of our kitchen team, you’ll be preparing all meat, fish, poultry, vegetables and passing this knowledge onto the team to ensure development and consistency. Attention to detail is key, so you’ll ensure that all kitchen areas are cleaned and maintained to the best health and safety standards and then correct and report any shortcomings.
 
About You:
 
  • To be considered for this role you will have excellent knowledge and experience of the kitchen within a quality driven hotel, restaurant, or hospitality environment.
  • You will be enthusiastic and willing to take on new responsibilities. Adopt a flexible approach to assist in different areas of the kitchen as business and guest needs dictate.
  • You will have the ability to impart your knowledge to the junior members of the team
  • Your finger will be on the pulse of all the latest trends, and have the desire to learn the next big thing Having a high level of emotional intelligence, you will be able to anticipate our guests needs ensuring they receive a Hand Picked experience.
  • It is essential you can demonstrate how you would be able to deliver our guest experience standards at Hand Picked Hotels, which includes the ability to go above and beyond to ensure guests have a high-quality, personalised, and magical experience that they remember, recommend, and return to time and time again.
